Terms & Conditions

Please read these terms and conditions carefully. When purchasing products from or selling devises to Mobitronics, you agree to the terms and conditions contained herein.

Mobitronics reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time without prior notice. Newly amended terms and conditions take immediate effect once updated on the Mobitronic’s online store. Mobitronics reserves the right to refuse service to any person and/or legal entity who fails to agree and/or comply with these terms and conditions.


Please note delivery is R150. Insurance of Delivery is at covered by Mobitronics. Alternativley, Customer may meet a Mobitronics representative in Cape Town. We use the courier guy to courier your parcel. We unable to use a courier of your choice.

Pre-Owned Products

All  Pre-owned products are inspected and tested to ensure they are in full working order. All Pre-owned products come with a 3 month warranty which covers factory defaults.

3 Month warranty

In case of any functional defect arising during the covered period, Mobitronics reserves the right to amend repairs to the unit or, as alternative if repairs are not possible or successful, offer a replacement unit of similar specification and equal value.

Warranty items included: Hardware failure, malfunction or manufacturer defects according to OEM standards.The warranty excludes customer negligence

The warranty does not cover;

  • Natural battery degradation
  • Chargers
  • Screen cracks
  • Speakers/Mics

In all circumstances, physical damage voids all warranties. Your warranty does not cover damage resulting from impact, water damage or misuse.


All certified pre-owned products are guaranteed for a 3 Month defaults. In the event of a return due to a factory default, the device must be returned at the cost of the consumer, not Mobitronics. For all returns of certified pre-owned products, Mobitronics will only replace the device if it cannot be fixed. If the device cannot be fixed or replaced, we will provide a full refund.

It is the responsibility of the consumer to cover all postal fees and other costs incurred when returning the device. All costs associated with returns are non-refundable. If you are entitled to receive a refund for the returned device, the return shipping/postal costs will be deducted from your refund.

Mobitronics accepts no responsibility if we do not receive the returned device. For this reason, we advise that our customers use a trackable courier service.


When purchasing a device from Mobitronics, we accept no responsibility for any damage incurred after the device has been posted or shipped. Mobitronics cannot be held liable for any damage incurred during the postal or shipping process.


Mobitronics will only exchange a device if it is deemed to be defective, damaged or blacklisted. For all queries relating to returns please email support@mobitronics.co.za.


Mobitronics operates a strict policy relating to stolen phones. If a traded in device is found to be stolen, we reserve the right to take further action.

We have procedures in place to ensure that the devices we sell are not stolen or blacklisted. In the event that the device that you purchase from Mobitronics is blacklisted, we will replace your device within 5 working days.

This policy does not apply to blacklisted devices that are returned in an unusable condition which includes but is not limited to;

  1. Unauthorized alterations to device have been carried out, resulting in damage
  2. the device has been damaged as a result of user negligence or inadequate care
  3. the device has been damaged as a result of electrical surges
  4. the device is returned without the original box
  5. the device is returned without proof of purchase.

Repairs & upgrades

If any repairs or upgrades are required, unless otherwise communicated, the longest period that we will store your device at our premises is 90 days. In the event that your upgraded or repaired device is not collected within this period, we reserve the right to sell the device without compensation. Alternatively, a storage fee of R400 (excl. VAT) per month will apply for every month over the agreed 90 day period that the device is stored at our premises .

Content updates and changes

Mobitronics reserves the right to correct any inaccuracies and to change the content of our website, and any documentation or correspondence relating to the purchasing, selling or trading of devices, at any time without prior notice. Mobitronics cannot guarantee that the content of our website, documentation and any correspondence relating to the purchasing, selling or trading of devices, is up to date and without errors.

Selling your device to Mobitronics

When selling your device to Mobitronics, the following terms and conditions apply:

2.1 Seller Requirements. When purchasing a device, Mobitronics requires; accurate and up to date information about the device and the seller and full compliance with all of the terms and conditions outlined in this document.

Mobitronics cannot take responsibility for or be held liable if the seller provides us with incorrect bank details.

2.2 Device Eligibility. Mobitronics reserves the right to refuse the purchase of any device. Mobitronics will only agree to purchase a device if, after testing and inspection, it meets our requirements. Mobitronics therefore has to sole right to determine whether a device is eligible for purchase. All Mobitronics offers to purchase are valid for a period of 7 days unless otherwise stated.

2.3 Condition Categories. Mobitronics operates a category system which related to the condition of devices that we purchase. The categories are; (1) Sealed – Brand New. This category refers to any device that has not been opened and is therefore sealed, in the original box.
(2) Good Condition. This category refers to any device that is in perfect working order and has minimal signs of usage.
(3) Minor Defects. This category refers to any device that is in perfect working order but does have small visible defects such as minor scratches or dents.

These categories are guidelines. Please contact Mobitronics if you are unable to determine which category your device falls under.

2.4 Product valuation. Any offer made to you by Mobitronics is dependent upon the condition of your device as determined by our inspections division. Once your device has been received, our inspections division conducts tests and appropriate checks to ensure a fair valuation of your device. We reserve the right to offer you an amount lower than the original offered amount should the condition of the device not match that supplied by you upon ticket submission. ** add in if not all parts that the seller stated, are received by Mobitronics. In the unlikely event of such a situation occurring, you have the right to reject our offer in which case your device will be returned to you for a delivery fee of R250.

2.5 Personal information and data. Mobitronics cannot be held liable for the loss of any data or information once a device has been received by us. It is the responsibility of the seller to backup and remove data and personal information from their device, before it is sold to Mobitronics.

2.7 Product inspection. After you have accepted the original offer made to you by Mobitronics on our website you have 7 business days to ship your device to us, failing which the offer will expire and you will have to resubmit your ticket and receive a new, possibly lower offer. It should be noted that we perform IMEI number checks to ensure the legitimacy of your device. In the event of any illegitimacy being determined with regards your device our offer to purchase your device will be terminated with immediate effect and Mobitronics shall accept no further responsibility for your device, this includes any shipping charges.

2.8 International sellers. Mobitronics cannot purchase any device from outside of South Africa.

Customer Privacy policy

Mobitronics shall take all reasonable steps to protect the personal information of users. For the purpose of this clause, “personal information” shall be defined as detailed in the Promotion of Access to Information Act 2 of 2000 (PAIA). The PAIA may be downloaded from: http://www.polity.org.za/attachment.php?aa_id=3569 .

Payment options accepted

Payment may be made via Visa and MasterCard.

Card acquiring and security

Card transactions will be acquired for Mobitronics via PayGate (Pty) Ltd who are the approved payment gateway for all South African Acquiring Banks. PayGate uses the strictest form of encryption, namely Secure Socket Layer 3 (SSL3) and no Card details are stored on the website. Users may go to www.paygate.co.za to view their security certificate and security policy.

Customer details separate from card details

Customer details will be stored by Mobitronics separately from card details which are entered by the client on PayGate’s secure site. For more detail on PayGate refer to www.paygate.co.za.

Merchant Outlet country and transaction currency

The merchant outlet country at the time of presenting payment options to the cardholder is South Africa. Transaction currency is South African Rand (ZAR).


Mobitronics takes responsibility for all aspects relating to the transaction including sale of goods and services sold on this website, customer service and support, dispute resolution and delivery of goods.

Country of domicile

This website is governed by the laws of South Africa and Mobitronics chooses as its domicilium citandi et executandi for all purposes under this agreement, whether in respect of court process, notice, or other documents or communication of whatsoever nature.
